Kiteboarding

The yearround steady tradewinds, warm water and easygoing atmosphere make our island the perfect destination for kiteboarders of all levels.

Windsurfing

Bonaire windsurfing is considered top of the world because of its ideal windsurfing conditions. Jibe City is a very relaxed and laid back windsurf center on the east coast of Bonaire where you can rent boards sails, booms and masts as well as surfclothing from the major brands as reef, rip curl, etc..

Caving

As Bonaire consists mainly out of limestone (fossile coral reefs), there are many caves on the island.

The "dry" ones have many stalactites, stalagmites and even the special helectites. These caves are of the uttermost importance for Bonaire's ecosystem. There are also 'wet' caves where you can snorkel in crystal clear water and maybe meet the cave shrimp or the rare cave-fish. Our caves are natural without artificial lighting, handrails or footpaths.

Kayaking

What would the coral reefs on Bonaire look like without this mangrove system? Very empty! Because the mangroves are the nursery room for many of the fish normally seen on the reef. This is where you may see juvenile barracudas, parrotfish, tarpons and trunkfish (just to name a few).

Kayaking Bonaire: the lush green mangroves of LacExperience the lush green and serene tranquility of this very special ecosystem from a kayak and watch with delight as nature is moving by. In the night this is also an experience you'll never forget. At night this is where you truly can experience and enjoy the sound of silence.

Kayaking Bonaire: view above and under water. Because of its important function the mangroves on Bonaire are also a Ramsar Site. This will also give it an international protected status under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.

Birdwatching

Bonaire is great for birdwatching. A lot of different kinds of Herons and Egrets can be seen together here with the Caribbean Flamingo. And of course you want to spot the endemic Bonairean Parrot (yellow shouldered amazon parrot). Or the mighty crested Cara cara sitting on a cactus.
